SUMMARY:LDC Workshop: Your Life Story in Comics with Lou Crosby
DESCRIPTION:A introductory and practical workshop into graphic memoir / comics about the everyday hosted by Louise Crosby\, from the Laydeez do Comics Team (LDC) \nThis session will begin with a brief illustrated presentation of the possibilities of the comics form and how it can be used to tell autobiographical stories. She will also show examples of graphic memoirs\, including some from the libraries own collection. \nThen there will be a chance to try it out for yourself\, through a few practical exercises. No drawing experience or knowledge of comics is required to participate\, as the tasks will be suitable for both beginners and those with more drawing experience. \nThe exercises will be followed by some brief ideas for next steps\, such as information for further courses\, further reading\, competitions\, how comics artists start to sell their work and other suggestions for further developing your comic. \nPaper and some basic drawing materials will be provided.
